THE SOWER AND THE SEED

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14 I planted some seeds the other day. They are coming up. Day by day. Water. Sunshine. Dirt. Everyday we sow seeds by the words of our mouths. Day by day. Confession after confession. The seeds are sprouting, our words are coming to pass, they are coming up. The things my Mom planted in each of us children, they are coming up.  The prayers she prayed, are coming to pass. How she earnestly interceded for her babies, to be helped, to be held by Jesus, to be directed by His leading, to take hold of His hand and to never let Him go. Since we were young she spoke of the hope we have in Jesus. She believed in His power. She cherished His every word of life. She was the sower, we are the seeds. We are coming up. We are sprouting. We are watered by the Word. We are grounded in the...

YOU DO THE MATH

Daniel our second eldest son was studying the Greeks in history. He was telling me how they got so good at math they started to worship it and when that happened they never got any better as they only thought they could get to a certain point. Would that describe modern worship? Now without heading in all sorts of directions with this I want to mention one area. We approach God through our ability and methods. But how would it be if we just WERE. Let me explain a little we worship the great I AM the bible says and in my limited sphere of understanding I am starting to know that if I am in the great I AM then I must just BE. If I am trying to be, trying to achieve, or trying to please then in reality, anything or any place I am trying to be or get to is based more in me than in the great I AM. I hear someone say so what we sit on our sofa and BE and in response I would suggest you remove yourself from getting my emails I am only going to aggravate you. What I am trying to express...

POWER OF PRAISE

A simple little THANK YOU. So powerful. Any creature with a heart responds to praise. Conditions of the heart are healed with praise. With a little acknowledgement of what someone might be going through, a little bit of caring and kindness...never know who you might have just rescued. Think about you...how do you feel when someone bothers to ask you how you are doing? Immediately your level of confidence rises or falls depending on the persons level of genuine interest or concern. We are called to build up the body. How do you build up the body? Many different ways. Words are one way.  Use your words to speak life and to heal and to nourish those around you. HE WHO BRINGS AN OFFERING OF PRAISE and THANKSGIVING honors and glorified ME; and he who orders his way aright, to him I will demonstrate the salvation of GOD. Psalm 50:23

THE SIMPLE LIFE

Desiring the simple life? Do not take your eyes off Jesus. You cannot run a race if you're eyes are not looking straight ahead. How do you keep your eyes looking straight ahead? Open your Bible. Read. Think. Remember. Do what it says. Prepare to be amazed.

KEEP LOOKING UP

Praying that you receive a blessing, healing, and hope to realize you are again held tightly by the strong love of our faithful Saviour who is very near to the broken hearted. Most of you that know me, know that it is hard for me to leave out details when telling of life's journey. I still struggle to convey only facts and attempt to leave out excessive emotional bunny trails. Somehow, I have managed to not really write any updates with the exception of writing a few small blurbs on my blog. In any case, please know that I miss you and until Jesus comes I will be waiting to hear from you and your heart. This last year ended with Dylan and I visiting his family and some of our friends in Missouri from mid December until the 31st. We met up with my sisters and their husbands and children in Tennessee January 1st through 7th. The cabin we stayed in was called above the clouds. I thought it was awfully appropriate seeing how the Lord has kept...

LITTLE IS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT PRAYER

Words are powerful, yet meaningless if they are not backed up by genuine concern, sincere interest, daily deliberate sharing of your time, effort, and thoughts. Investing time, substance, and heart into your relationship is necessary. It is the same with your relationship with God. How much time do you spend with Him? Are you going as deep as you could go?  DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU. Very little is accomplished without prayer. Over the years I've asked couples ARE YOU PRAYING TOGETHER? Nine times out of ten the answer is NO. Praying together invites the Prince of Peace to come in and guard your hearts and lives and give you divine insight into the details of your lives and interactions with one another. Whoever said, "If you are desiring to  lay down your life  for her, it is only prudent that you inquire and petition the One who created her. Otherwise, you will be lacking wisdom and understanding and direction." That guy knew what ...
