From the living room of our Father to the family room with our friends, we are learning why David longed to "live in the house of the LORD forever" (Ps. 23:6). In God's house we have everything we need: a solid foundation, an abundant table, sturdy walls, and an impenetrable roof of grace. And now, having seen every room and explored each corner, we have one final stop. Not to a new room, but to one we have visited earlier. We return to the chapel. We return to the room of worship. Over the years I have listened to people here and there talking about "Living a life of faith." I have observed that some misunderstand what that means exactly. Sometimes it may be our human nature to blindly follow the example of others we respect, without realizing all the details necessary to accomplish the goal. So we go on and try to immitate the ones who have gone before us, not understanding that they spent hours in prayer and took great risk to do those things that were pleasing to God. We fall into error and cause others to do the same when we fail to retain the knowledge of God in our minds, and when our motivation to "live a life of faith" is something other than pleasing the One who has called us into His glorious light. No where in scripture that I am aware of does it tell us not to work. Do you realize that as you judge, so you will be judge according to that very same measure? Suggestion: Leave room for the judgement of God, and do not assume His standard is inline with yours. I promise you, it is HIGHER. The fruit of the Spirit is not a short fuse, rude behaviour, sarcastic remarks, rolling your eyes, and considering the rest of the human race beneath you. Even if you are attending a modern-well organized-hyper spiritual church, if you are acting like TWICE THE SON OF HELL... may God open your blind eyes to see you need to repent while there is still time. This applies to every area of your life. Forget about your ministry! You do not have a ministry if you do not have a genuine relationship with your Heavenly Father. God's word is the recipe for right relationships. God's word is the GPS that will talk to you on the way to your destination.
