DEEPER STILL

DEEPER STILL
End of 2007

Watch the sunrise. Sing a song of hope for a stranger. Pray for your family. Pray with a friend. Wake up early. Stay up late. Wait for a change. Invest your time in the hearts of those around you great or small. Plant a seed. Take a walk alone. Really listen. Do not think so much. Maybe consider how you could be more considerate. Give what you have away. Speak a word of encouragement. Be still for longer than 10 minutes and reflect. Thank God for His Word. Thank God for what has been, what is, and what will be. Expect the unexpected.
FATHER: Faithful to me always, ever mindful of my ways. Lead me into this time of reflection, THANKS, and praise. Allow me to recite my lines for You, my King. Please let these words written be straight from Your heart to the hearts of Your own. Let our expectation be of You. May Your name be glorified in all the earth. In Jesus name. Amen.

My Dearest Brothers and Sisters -
This year has been full of so much. Mostly just a setting down of everything I think I know. A coming apart of my insides. Tears are salty waters made for purging and refreshing. Prayer is absolutely a life-giving, necessary source that teaches us how to interact with one another, how to be merciful, and how to let go and receive the benefits of truly listening and freely sharing.

OPEN UP MY HEART AND RECEIVE ANEW
THE LIFE BLOOD THAT GIVES ONLY TRUTH
BE STILL MY SOUL, QUIET MY MIND
MY SPIRIT IS SEEKING AND SO SHALL FIND
ITS HOPE AND ETERNAL STEADFAST JOY IN GOD ALONE
DISTRACTIONS, EMOTIONAL BARRIERS - BE GONE
REDEEMING LOVE HAS FOUND ME, BAREFOOT AND BROKEN
AWAKENED - NAKED AND OPEN
WAITING UPON THE LORD
WASHED IN THE WATER OF HIS WORD
ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME NO MORE HIDES
BUT STIRS ABOUT AND COMES ALIVE
BY THE VERY BREATH OF YOUR SPIRIT GOD
THE WARMTH AND LIGHT OF YOUR LOVE DRAWS ME NEAR
BIDS ME TO CASTS MY CARES AND COME AWAY WITH YOU WHERE
THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE’S PERFECT PEACE
BUT A SIMPLE DESIRE TO BE EMPTIED AND FREE
DEEP DOWN - TO KNOW AND BE KNOWN
WHAT FREEDOM THERE IS IN JUST LETTING GO
IN BEING THANKFUL, TRANSPARENT, AND WILLING TO GROW
LET ALL I AM CRY OUT FOR WISDOM AND BE HOLY LOVE
SELFLESS, CONSIDERATE, COMMITTED TO THE WHOLENESS OF
YOUR BODY, YOUR BRIDE, JESUS CHRIST
MY ANCHOR, MY STRENGTH, MY LIFE
THANK YOU FATHER FOR YOUR SPIRIT AND YOUR HELP
THANK YOU GOD FOR RESERVING ME FOR YOURSELF
AND THAT YOU ARE NOT FINISHED YET
YOU’LL NOT STOP UNTIL EVERY PROMISE IS FULFILLED
AND EVERY NEED IS MET

Saints, I pray for you - that when your heart feels what it feels...may you not resist, may you not run away, but allow the breaking to come. May you yield completely to the work of the Holy Spirit that is ready to assist you. Cry out for wisdom! Cast your cares...give your burdens to the Lord. Put off the old man to put on the new. May there be true repentance in the hearts of every one of us. Healing come in Jesus name. Let every attitude that is not of Heaven dissolve in Your presence O God. Let every mind-set that is not tried and true be refined in the fires of your perfect love for us. Reveal what our eyes are not seeing. Let us walk the trail that you have determined. May we throw away our plans and come away with You WISDOM AND TRUTH. May we truly know You God and not just think we do. May we make an effort to know those that labor among us. Let freedom come as we remember - You, perfect Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

When did we get too big to cry? When did we get too old to run? How can we know so much and feel so little? Since when is it ok to lie? About anything? Who do we owe? We spend more than what we have. When we owe creditors and we do not seek to (at the very least) bring it before the Lord, but also make an effort in some way to begin to take care of the debts. [Love, for the Day is Near] Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:8)
Why do we not make every effort possible to relieve our spouses of their burdens, or at least truly share their load. Living in the same house with each other, but have no idea what they are feeling. While neither spouse has any idea how deep the needs really are in the other. To some degree we are lying when we are not honest with ourselves or others about how we feel, and of course this spills over into our other relationships and interactions with others. Relationships reflect the truth about our relationship with God. (Growing, struggling, or non-existent) Please read Ephesians 5:21-33 Amplified if possible.
Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
P.S. BY THE WAY THE LAW OF CHRIST IS LOVE.

Do we take the time to pour ourselves into our children? When we are around them do we spend more time and effort trying to think of ways to entertain or distract them?
What is occupying their little minds? Allowing them to be babysat by an unmonitored picture box instead of teaching them the way that they should go. They are starving for their mommies and daddies hugs and kisses and for real attention. We let bad attitudes fly in ourselves, and then let the guilt keep us from correcting our children. Our children mirror our every action, word, and attitude.
THEREFORE BE IMITATORS OF GOD AS WELL BELOVED CHILDREN AND WALK IN LOVE, [ESTEEMING AND DELIGHTING IN ONE ANOTHER] AS CHRIST LOVED US AND GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR US, A SLAIN OFFERING AND SACRIFICE TO GOD A SWEET FRAGRANCE. (Ephesians 5:1,2)
On a side note: If God opens and closes the womb. And the fruit of the womb is His reward. Then how can we dare say that we cannot "afford" to have children? Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. (Psalm 127:4,5) Which leads me to ask why would we approve of and adopt the ways of the world in birth control? If God said to be FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, then who are we benefitting to go outside of His design?
We do all of this and we say that God understands. It’s just life. Some of us are not taking responsibility for our responsibilities. Some of us are chasing after positions, careers, titles, ministries, lifestyles or relationships, and we have not ministered unto the least of these. Some of us are not honoring one another. Some of us are not submitting to God’s authority. We are not obeying His Word and yet we call Him Lord. We are lord of our own lives when we do what we want over what He commands. Some of us are more concerned with our agendas, programs, and schedules working out than we are considering the Father’s heart. Some of us are too busy with our outward appearance that our insides reek of poison. The longer we allow this to go on...it’s infecting/effecting others. To our own shame — we are doing all of this in the name of the Lord. Stealing. Lying. Cheating. Rude. Absent in mind and heart. Inconsiderate. Negligent. Self absorbed. Living for the approval of others. All the while overlooking what is deep down...what really matters. Becoming numb to the truth. Where is the fruit that lasts?
"Questioning is on a quest for the truth. Questioning not judging. What do you think about this FATHER? Being consumed with the Father’s heart like Jesus is and was. " Jason Upton

... IF THE LIGHT INSIDE OF YOU IS DARKNESS, HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS?
Matthew 6:23

It’s not enough to read the Word of God...study all you want...pray all you can...Ecclesiastes man! Words and actions without heart behind it is empty-nothing. It’s religion, it’s trying to be a good person, it’s obligation and rituals. Without love we are nothing. (I Corinthians 13)
THE EAR THAT LISTENS TO THE REPROOF [THAT LEADS TO OR GIVES] LIFE WILL REMAIN AMONG THE WISE. HE WHO REFUSES AND IGNORES INSTRUCTION AND CORRECTION DESPISES HIMSELF, BUT HE WHO HEEDS REPROOF GETS UNDERSTANDING.
Proverbs 14:30,31

God inhabits the praise of His people. Being thankful. Acknowledging God daily inwardly and outward in all circumstances. Though we do need to use wisdom and discernment, we can still take every opportunity to give glory to God. I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes...(Romans 1:16) Call on His name. Pray for each other. By all means live what you believe.Do not delay.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name.
Hebrews 13:15

Single or Married, Kids or no kids - cleaning house is a must. Ask anyone. No matter where we are or where we go, our dwelling place needs some attention. There are things that clutter, things that stink, things that are not doing anybody any good, but sometimes we prolong the unavoidable. If we do not get rid of stuff...the stuff will have us. Clutter only gets more cluttered. Trash...stinks, rots, ferments, and eventually turns into fertilizer (miracle grow). There’s no getting around it. We need to get rid of the old (mind-set, ways of doing things, unthankful, negative, complaining attitudes) stuff that keeps getting in the way. It’s distracting, time consuming, and frankly--- just plain ugly.

BLIND SIDE...Oh Lord give me eyes to see. And then suddenly I am seeing all kinds of things. Things that are not completely explainable. Other things that are simply painful. And now I am responsible for what I know and do nothing about.
Just imagine I am a passenger in the back of someone’s car. They are trying to get over in the next lane. I can see, they cannot see. I see a car coming at a pretty rapid speed. I need to respond quickly as my friend is in a hurry to make a lane change. Do I say nothing and hope all goes well, when I am certain there is danger coming? Or do I speak up and warn them...giving them at least a chance to avoid a potential accident that could cause pain or death? Families sometimes are the worst ones to stay quiet about the things they see. Thinking that things are already uncomfortable and they do not want to make matters worse. Confronting the real issues is always a risk. Without risk there may not be a relationship. We can ask God for wisdom on how to approach each individual situation. He is the Master communicator. (Isaiah 52:6) He knows what we do not.

Blessed are the peace makers, they will be called the sons of God. Matthew 5:9 A peace maker does not ignore or pretend to not see the problem when there is one. A peace maker is not afraid to give a gentle reminder or needful reproof. A peace maker does for others what he would want done for himself if he were in their shoes.
If we want to see change. We must be the change. If we want others to experience revival. We must live revived. If we want God’s heart and His love to flow out of us...we must pray and start taking responsibility for ourselves and others. Remembering whatever we have done unto the least of these...we have done it unto Him. And whatever we have not done for the least of these...we have not done it unto Him. (Matthew 25:40,45)

So then, we may no longer be children, tossed like ships to and fro between every wind of doctrine... (Please read all of Ephesians 4 and 5)
Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth (in all things, speaking truth, dealing truly, living truly). Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head...
FOR BECAUSE OF HIM the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, grows to full maturity, building itself up in Love.
Now may the God of peace, Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood that sealed the everlasting covenant...
Strengthen and make you what you ought to be
and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; while He Himself works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to Whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20,21

May God be glorified in His people who choose to walk in HIS WAYS,
and not our own.
I pray you are encouraged and know you are truly loved,

Marcie L. Mayo
