WRESTLE SOME

Some of us have a need to wrestle or be wrestled to the ground, and we may not even realize it. Much good can come from the fight, you might be a mess when it's all over, but you will be thankful that you are alive. You will understand your need for heavens help. You might recall the moment of intimidation or the point of absolute determination to not give up or give into defeat. You might have some marks, scars, and lingering pain from getting beat down, but you will have no regrets when you get back up. Wrestle some, don't be dumb. You need to wrestle. You need to fight! How else will you learn to get back up? You must not be afraid to fail before God. Get back up!

We get back up when we choose to look up. When we look at ourselves, or look around and compare, or allow our thoughts to turn inward we cave into despair. Do yourself a favor, don't go there. Keep your eyes on Jesus so that your face will be radiant and never covered with shame. If you are looking anywhere else you can be sure you will be going round the same ole mountain for as long as it takes for you to fight the good fight.

"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." I Timothy 6:12

There are plenty of people that will back down and just want to go the easy way, the broad way, the path of least resistance. Wrestle some, don't be dumb. Narrow is the path and few that find it. The Word of God is clear. Be unwavering in loving the truth and hating what is evil. The way of the world promotes making up your own god and your own rules and being your own saviour, but in the end it leads to a bottomless pit of scary sickness that never ever goes away.

"All who all upon the name of the Lord shall be saved..." Romans 10:9, 10 And once you make the decision to call on Jesus, the wrestlings do not necessarily get any easier. In fact, sometimes it seems a little more intense. Fighting the good fight is realizing that you can do all things through Christ Jesus your strength. And without Him you can do nothing.
