FALLING AWAY
My mom was watching Sean Hannity on Fox news the other night. He had Joel Osteen on as a guest, he is a pastor of a large church and author of a few books. When he was asked by Hannity what is his take on controversal subjects, such as gay marriage and abortion...Joel's answer was, "In his opinion it is not GOD'S BEST." Wow, if ever a man had an opportunity to speak the name of Jesus and the pure word of God to thousands of listeners... he did the exact opposite.
I heard my mom from the other room say, "WHAT A WISS!" I am pretty sure she meant to say, 'wuss.' He did not represent the Kingdom of God, he actually avoided speaking the truth for whatever reason. Jesus said the world hated me and they will hate you. If you are ashamed of or deny Jesus before men, He will be ashamed of and deny you before His Father and all the host of heaven. God's word says that murderers, drunkards, fornicators, adulterers, effeminate, liars, gossips will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (I Corinthians 6:9-10)
The fear of God is to hate what he hates and love what he loves. To hate evil, get away from it, do not participate in the works of darkness, and do good. God's best is that we speak the truth in love and snatch people from the flames, to look after orphans and widows and keep ourselves from being polluted by the world. God's best is not to stand there and hope that everybody likes us and that we continue to have the approval of the masses. Meanwhile, the lost remain lost and many continue on thinking that God is supernice and does not really care what you do as long as you are 'happy.' Dung stinks no matter how you try to serve it up.

"...happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:" John 5:17
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." II Thessalonians 2:3,4,10,11,12
