BODY PARTS

A few weeks ago went climbing with a group of wonderful people that I was honored to serve with for a season. The rocks we were climbing were granite boulders. A few of us got a little scratched up, a little bruised, the rock left some marks on our flesh.

As I attempted to climb this one rock that required me to put one of my feet about waist high across from where I needed to hold both of my hands...I proceeded to put all of my weight on my fingers and try to quickly shift my weight over to my legs and feet and thighs. After a few tries of attempting this my fingers felt shredded and my upper body drained of any strength. The other climbers began encouraging me to hold on, to keep my grip firm, and to move inch by inch until I was able to put weight on both of my feet and balance came as I kept moving upward. I did touch the top and was thankful for all the different people that made an effort to encourage and to keep me on the rock.

I was able to climb to the top and stop and rest and keep on climbing, because I trusted the person holding the rope I was attached to. This is a continual lesson for us to live out in our daily lives. If we refuse to trust those around us we are unwilling to love...there is no love without trust.

Every one of us is important. One is not more special than the other. We all have a job, a function, a purpose, a specific thing we were made for. (And avoiding pain and suffering should not be our main focus.) All parts are vital and neccessary. One part without the other part will cause something to be off or out of sorts, unstable, unbalanced, malfunctioning. We all need each other and need to willingly willfully obey and do our part, so that all will be well with the rest of the body.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17

1 Thessalonians 5:14
"Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."

Love looks a little different to each individual depending on what season they are passing through. We can be sensative but active in our approach in spurring others onto good works. Not comparing people, not condemning or laying burdens on others, but with thankful kindness addressing what needs to be addressed. It is total chaos without this (everyone doing his or her part).
