HOW'S THE WEATHER?

This rock is what I found on the ground in Alaska as I walked and prayed for those I love. Reminding me that the One I pray to hears, knows, and loves me through every thing.

There is so much to weather in life these days---Good thing we have hope. Hope that causes us to exercise our faith by living love. Love is the heart of our Father who faithfully warns His children of the things that are to come. Letter upon letter the scriptures are filled with warnings and exhortations of what to look for and how not to put our hope in the temporary things that we can see, because it is collapsing and falling apart, and will soon be no more. Just look at the economy. Father knows best. He sees what we cannot and so he does not leave us in the dark. He encourages us to cling to the eternal truth and not let temporary things be the treasure of our hearts, the god of our lives, or what we invest our time and strength into. He is fully aware of what the outcome is going to be. He knows a whole lot more than the weatherman does.

2 Corinthians 4:18
"Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting."

Most of us seem to be safe and sound and asleep in our own little make-believe-worlds where everything could be 'a little better' in our estimation. But we are decieving ourselves into believing it all depends on us. If we will just work a little harder, do a little more, spend a little less, get a franklin day planner, or some motivational videos everything will somehow improve. Meanwhile, back at the ranch the sky is dark and heavy and our plans are being blown to bits. We need Him who is from everlasting, that sees all and knows all, to direct us by His word.

It was BY HIS WORD that the storms died, it was BY HIS WORD that the woman with the issue of blood was healed, the lame walked, the dead was raised, and the water turned to wine, the blind eyes saw, the deaf ears were opened, the prison doors were unlocked, chains fell off. And what do we think we can weather without the Word of God? If History repeats itself we better get a clue. Take a look at the weather and realize it is time to...

..."know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever." I Chronicle 2:9

"And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD." II Chronicles 12:14 Clue #2 from the Chronicles: If you do not prepare your heart to seek the Lord, you won't. If you do not seek the Lord you will do evil. 1+1=2.

"Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:" Amos 5:8
