ZELF

"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." Romans 15:1-3

DO WE PLEASE OURSELVES? The wisdom of the world is always measuring things according to what pleases self. Do we do what we do for others to please ourselves? God says to give without expecting anything in return. The mercy that you show will be the mercy that you receive.

Do we do kind deeds to be approved of man? To receive credit or recognition? Or do we do something for someone because we remember that "the kindness of God leads one to repentence". That "whatever a man sows that also shall he reap." And "whatever we do for the least of these we have done it unto Him."

This day and age there is a strong pull on the minds of man to do what they do for themselves and for no one else. The spirit of the world is selfishness and self consideration wherever you turn. The Holy Spirit of God reminds us to "make no provisions for the flesh or how you can fulfill the lust thereof."

"Do not seek your own good, but the good of others."
I Corinthians 10:24
