FEEL GOODERS

Beware of feel gooders and do gooders. . . lest you seek that which is not wisdom and follow after that which is not truth. Remember it was the serpent that tempted the woman to question what God had clearly commanded for their good. Listening to the serpent lead to the curse of all mankind. (Thank God for Jesus who has redeemed us from the curse...) The path is not broad but narrow. Open mindedness could prove to be nothing more than eloquent ignorance. Those who think they can create their own path, or believe that they are wiser than God, or that they can be their own god...will soon find that having some form (which ever suits you best) spirituality is nothing more than a 'feeling.' Call it whatever you want to, but it is not the way to eternal life.

"God's word is forever established in heaven..." Psalm 119:89

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."
Psalm 14:12

Many many years ago I attended an Intervarsity Bible Study group where they had a guest speaker. He worked in the media department and gladly represented the gay community. For the life of me I could not understand why this man was asked to speak. Though as the night went on I heard the person who invited him mention ---that they just wanted to show this man that they were open to hearing him and whatever he has to say.

The speaker went on and on about what I am not certain; even though I intently listened, waiting to see where he was going with his lecture. I looked around me at those from various denominational backgrounds and they were in awe of this man. He said something like, "What I do know is that I don't know what I want to know. You know?" As those around me ooed and awed and wowed...I over heard a few people that had evidently not realized they had tucked away their helmets of salvation and their shields of faith. Those who had not been reading God's word were easily deceived by this man's apparent worldly wisdom.

"All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about his Son.
And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life."
I John 5:10-11

And then for those who call themselves Christians who seek after a "word" to know what they should do, or where they should go, or try to obtain insight into their circumstances. It would seem to be seeking out such prophecies could be very dangerously close to the likes of going to a fortune teller, median, or sorcerer. Isaiah 52:6..."I am the God who speaks..." May I suggest that you make your requests known unto God? If you lack wisdom - ask God. It is good to seek godly counsel, but do not put your trust in man. According to Proverbs 3:5-6...if you acknowledge God in all of your ways He will direct your path.

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
Revelations 21:8

Be a student of the Word of God. Do not be impressed with man's wisdom. God will bring down the wisdom of the wise.
