REAR VIEW MIRROR

Praise be to God for keeping me alert and awake on my drive home from about midnight until noon today. I was thinking about how significant the traffic in our life is even though we are tuned out to our surroundings most of the time. Not only do we spend so much time thinking about where we are going, but we miss so much scenery on the way there because of our preoccupation with what's next. We get in pointless arguments about the directions instead of trusting God and looking at the map. We are eye witnesses to wrecks and tragedies and dilemmas everday of our lives. Most of the time we do not stop to see if we can be of assistance or we do not use our immediate resources to benefit others (prayer is powerful). We have no idea who is next to us, behind us, in front of us, but we keep forging ahead and pressing on, striving to make progress and get to where we are going. If some one messes up as we are travelling down the road, we yell at them or honk our horn and think to ourselves...

WORLD HUNGER

Do you recall a story in the New Testament where Jesus witnessed an older woman tossing in her pennies at the synogague, while others were giving out of their riches? I believe Jesus said this woman gave all she had and it was more to be valued than the well-to-do guys that gave out of their plenty. Why do we withhold any good thing from anyone when it is in our power to give it? Do we realize that as we give so shall we receive? How precious to give all you have even when it's just a few pennies. I am not just talking about finances or material possessions. Somebody somewhere could use a kind word, forgiveness, encouragement, a ride into town, a friend to talk to, an unexpected visit, a letter. Are we doing all that we can to make a difference in the lives of those around us? Are we being all things to all men in order to bring them to Christ Jesus? Let's get to it people! Let's do it while there is still a little time left. Let's use all we have to glorify God in this...

STEPPING ON MY OWN TOES

I say, 'stepping on my own toes,' because you are a part of me whether you are happy about that or not. Likewise, if Jesus is your Lord and Saviour then you are my brother or sister. You and I are THE BODY OF CHRIST. We are all members one of another. We cannot say to one member, "I have no need of you." (I Corinthians 12:21) The body needs every part of itself to be willing to defend and heal itself as a whole. One part without the other just does not make any sense. It would cripple or disable itself, by not operating as it should. If one part is hurting the others parts rush in and supply what is lacking. Whether that be nutrients, rest, blood, healing balm, or a covering until it scabs or mends itself in time. Without each other we are blind, deaf, dumb, or paralyzed. What is the greatest thing in the world? Not faith that can move mountains. Not hope that is willing to win souls. Not generosity that gives all it has to the poor. (obviously all these things are go...

CHOOSE LIFE

ARE YOU WILLING TO BE HATED FOR JESUS NAME?

LONGTERM INVESTMENTS

“HE WHO PURSUES RIGHTEOUSNESS AND LOVE FINDS LIFE, PROSPERITY AND HONOR.” Proverbs 21:21 "With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity." Proverbs 8:18 "Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf." Proverbs 11:28 "Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread." Proverbs 30:8 "Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remem...

AIN'T NO THING

It is a nice 28 degrees out this morning where I am. The sun is about to rise on the just and the unjust, and I pray that the truth of God's Word melts every heart of stone today. Deaf ears be unstopped, clearly hear the voice of God. Blind eyes open and see what the Lord has done. We who are called by His name, have the opportunity once more, to humble ourselves and pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways. I pray that we cease to treat our relationship with God as if it were still just a 'sunday thing,' or 'wednesday night,' or what we do when we are 'at church.' Maybe if we started getting serious about our LoveLife with Him, the world would want to tune in... To see the next episode. Of the truly humble but seriously bold Sons and Daughters of The King of Kings. Or we can sit back, relax, and do nothing. Letting another day pass, the worries and the cares of this world carry us away, and act like it ain't no thing. We have alot to work ...

WATCH YOUR MOUTH

Please note: If you do not live your life by the Word of God, this message does not apply to you. But whoever claims to be IN HIM, should walk as Jesus did.(I John 2:6) Speak evil of no man. You would not speak bad about yourself, so then how is it you can so easily speak ill of another? STOP IT! It is the cause of more strife and mistrust than you realize. Nothing less than absolute division and contention and strife. These things do not bring about the righteousness of God. I am not just saying these things for my own health, but for your health too. If we would rightly discern the Body of Christ (which is each other) then we would not be weak and sick and falling asleep. "A MAN OUGHT TO EXAMINE HIMSELF before he eats the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks and does without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgement on himself. THIS IS WHY MANY AMONG YOU ARE WEAK AND SICK, AND A NUMBER OF YOU HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP. BUT IF WE JUDGE OURSELVES, ...
