PITFALL

"Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom." Proverbs 23:4 This is the exact opposite of what we learn from our society today. Most people in this country and beyond have been raised with a mindset that makes financial gain their top priority. Most people labouring to be rich or to "get ahead", are only tired and exhausted from wearing themselves out with all they were never meant to carry any way. God helps those who help themselves...is our own wisdom. Follow your heart...is our own wisdom. You can be whatever you want to be if you just set your mind to it and get an education...this is our own wisdom. Social security...our own wisdom. Our own wisdom is anything but secure. Pitfall is just a letter or two away from pitiful. Could we be a few inches from a pitfall or maybe we are already in a pit, when we do not realize that our source for life and everything good comes from above. The promise the prize, the refining, the adorning of the Bride, the leaving everything behind to follow Him. The wisdom of the ages, turning the pages, the new day dawning, the song of the mourning.
