WISDOM FROM GOD
BUT THE WISDOM THAT IS FROM ABOVE IS FIRST PURE, THEN PEACEABLE, GENTLE, AND EASY TO BE ENTREATED, FULL OF MERCY AND GOOD FRUITS, WITHOUT PARTIALITY, AND WITHOUT HYPOCRISY. AND THE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS SOWN IN PEACE OF THEM THAT MAKE PEACE. James 3:17,18
Would you like to know a little more than you do? About anything? Yeah, me too. We should ask God. Be slow to speak. I am learning that waiting can sometimes not only be wisdom, but love in action (especially when it comes to dealing with others hearts).
I was looking at a huge pile of trash the other day and then a friend came and got the trash to burn it. What a raging fire it was. It left no trace of what it was, but just ashes. The thought came to my mind that this is exactly what we should be doing as The Body of Christ. When accusations come up in our mind of our brothers and sisters in the Lord, we should throw it in the fire and LEAVE NO TRACE. The ashes will cause others to grow, to have hope, and to know that Jesus' perfect love cast out all fear. I was further contemplating about the enemy's schemes to turn each of us against one another. A house divided against itself cannot stand. So if we are not praying and discerning false expectations, lying accusations, and being of a ready mind to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ... then we can actually be used to stab one another with our words and actions (whether that is our intention or not). I have been deceived before thinking that I was just 'being honest' or contributing my straight forwardness to 'wanting to be truthful.' When in truth I did not handle the persons heart as if it was my own. I have repented since, and now before confronting an issue with any individual I take time to prayerfully consider their heart as if it were my own. Making certain before I speak that my motive is only love (for their good and not to please myself) and nothing else.
And whose report will we believe? God says one thing, the enemy says quite another. God says that there is now no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. He says that He has come to give you life more abundantly. There is no greater love than this to lay down your life for a friend. Give yourself completely, withhold not good when it is in your power to give it. Treat others as greater than yourself. Love as I have loved you.
The enemy says that you cannot trust anyone... you are better off keeping to yourself and not allowing anyone to know you. You should not take anyone at their word and you have plenty of reasons to be suspicious and not to trust. The enemy tries to get you to keep a part of yourself back, to withhold in the name of good, to have a higher standard, to elevate yourself and think that you are the only one really following God. Love only if that person deserves it or meets up to a certain standard or only if they earn it.
Let us pray for and live out of the wisdom that comes from God. Our own understanding will always lead us down the road of false humility and will cause unnecessary pain to those who are our members... the Body of Christ. We are to be rejoicing with those who are rejoicing and grieving with those who grieve, bearing one another's burdens and fulfilling the law of Christ (which is love).
