Scary thing when the truth is staring us right in the face and somehow we still manage to miss the point. The blinders would fall off if we would spend more time in prayer and listening. Stopped at a red light the other day I heard the noise of brakes, tires screeching, and a collision. I looked to my right and barely a block away the cars had collided and blocked up two or three lanes of traffic. It did not seem that anyone was going to the scene to check for signs of life and the two people I did see were looking at the badly damaged car...instead of the woman that appeared to be trapped in the other vehicle. Immediately I pulled over and walked as quickly as possible to the injured lady. The other people standing around seemed to be quite unconcerned, not asking her any questions. As I opened her door it was obvious the woman was a little more than shook up. A few of her fingers were broken or badly fractured, a few of her ribs were fractured, (this info was confirmed as I called her after she had returned home from the hospital to make sure she was okay) and she had taken a nasty hit to the face. You and I will be very wise to stay grounded in the deep love of God's Holy word. Turn off the soap operas. Stop listening to those friends who are not really friends (if they are encouraging you to do something contrary to God's word.) Without His word we are lost, confused, not sure what we are doing here, following a lie, or coming up with our own set of plans. Apart from Jesus we can do nothing. Every now and then I think it is wise to review--- WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR? Tell the truth. Your own happiness? Pleasures and gratification? Financial gain? What you want or for the will of God? "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." Matthew 16:25

I wonder how many of us have resolved not to cause any waves? Everything is shaky, unstable, subject to change. All will be shaken that can be shaken. Even the waves of the sea have been given a boundary line by God, "This is how far you go and no further." The Lord God who made us has given us boundary lines for our own good. At any given time we will be reaping consequences or a blessing from the choices that we choose to make. Sitting on the shore yesterday I was hoping to soak my swollen knee in the beautiful emerald waves. The reality of my circumstance seemed more like I was getting thrashed by the salt water repeatedly (getting a beating I was), strong sucking pull dragging me down the sandpaper shoreline (it's hard to hold onto sand for stability), and I still attempted to think healing thoughts as my eyes were burning from all the slaps (splashes) to the face.
