FOR THIS IS RIGHT
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right . Honor your father and mother—which is the first commandment with a promise— that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth. (Ephesians 6:1-3) Certain legalistic viewpoints take the scriptures completely out of context to suite their cult-like, unloving, right in their own eyes ways of living. Nowhere in scripture does it give you permission to write off, disregard, or neglect your own flesh and blood. If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:25-27) If you look at the passages around these verses you will find that the people were making many statements and most of them were making excuses. I earnestly believe that Jesus is saying DO NOT LET ANYTHING come between you and I. Not yours
